Marantz is all about performance of audio and video. They don't have a lot of fancy features, they simply use the best parts to give you the best performance. Their sound and picture are set to reference standards. Many of their products are THX certified.
The VP-11S2 is one of the finest projectors available. Terrific processing, top quality lens and build quality. Anamorphic lens and long throw lens available.
AV-8003 Preamplifier and MM-8003 Amplifier is high end performance reasonably priced. A recent comparison of 10 high end combinations ranked these two units second. Eight in the comparison cost more that the Marantz and the number one unit was a few thousand more and many were 2 or 3 times more expensive. The one that was the least expensive ranked last. So second is very good and you won't find better without spending a lot more money.
