 JVC developed some of the most advanced technology.  They make all kinds of products for every aspect of video; professional, commercial and home. Their projectors have the best black level of any projector and the highest on/off contrast.  The projectors have a film like appearance that many prefer as it doesn't have a 'digital' look.  It is the closest to film one can get.

JVC HD-990 (AKA RS-35 in some markets, same projector) has the highest on/off contrast of 70,000:1 of any projector.  The D-ILA chips mimics film better than any other digital technology.  It is THX certified to ensure top performance.  This is a phenomenal projector.
